Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK

'' To see me does not necessarily mean to see my face. To understand my thoughts is to have seen me''

Atatürk Explains Himself

Posters were being prepared for the twelfth anniversary of the Republic. Among them were some like these:
   ''Atatürk is the greatest.''
''It has taken the Turkish nation centuries to produce a Mustafa Kemal.''
Atatürk, carefully looking over the wording of the posters, scratched out these words and all those like them, and in their place wrote: ''ATATÜRK IS ONE OF US.''
